Obituary ....
Gordonville Resident Succumbs at Home; Funeral at Church
Funeral services for Mrs. Wm. G. Sander, 80 years old, who died of complications Saturday afternoon at the family home in Gordonville, were conducted this afternoon at the Lutheran Church in Gordonville. Rev. Hugo Hoyer, pastor, had charge of the rites and burial was in the church cemetery with Lorberg service. She had been ill about eight years, but her condition had been serious only the past three weeks.
Mrs. Sander was born October 27, 1861, at Friedham and spent her early life there. She moved to a farm near Gordonville in 1885 when she married to Mr. Sander, and had resided in Gordonville 35 years. She had been a life-long member of the Lutheran Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Leo Lorberg of Gordonville, two adopted daughters, Mrs. Henry Sailer and Mrs. Louis Eggemann of Gordonville; a sister. Mrs. Fred Maintz of Kurreville, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Sander died 19 years ago. |
