Obituary ....
Mrs. Bertha E. Niemann, 83 years old, of Gordonville, died at 7 Thursday night at a nursing home at Lutesville. She was the wife of the Late Wm. H. Niemann.
She was born on February 10, 1877 near Jackson and was a daughter of John Birk and Katherine Birk. She was baptized, confirmed and married in Immanual Lutheran Church at Tilsit. She and Mr. Niemann were married in 1898.
Surviving are two sons, Henry Niemann and Wm. Niemann of Gordonville, a daughter, Mrs. Arnold Macke of Jackson, a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Frieda Niemann of Gordonville; four brothers, 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. The brothers are Herman Birk of Jackson, Louis Birk of St. Louis and Theodore Birk and Joe Birk of Jackson. Four sons preceded her in death.
The body is at the McCombs Funeral Home and a prayer service will be held there at 1:30 on Sunday afternoon. The rites will be at the Christ Lutheran Church at 2:30 Sunday. The Rev. Paul Ludwig will be in charge. Burial is to be in the church cemetery. |
