She was a graduate of old Normal School in Cape Girardeau, now SEMO State University, and many years ago taught at Whitewater, Tilsit and Clover Hill.

An active member of Christ Lutheran Church here, Mrs. Gross taught Sunday School for 37 years. She was also a member of its Ladies Aid.

Surviving are a son, Albert Gross, Gordonville; daughters, Mrs. Albert Wessell, Gordonville, and Mrs. Nelson Birk, Fredericktown; sister, Mrs. Alma Kempe, Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Three sisters preceded her in death.
