Obituary ....

Mrs. Emma M. Wise, 80 years old, of Gordonville, died Saturday at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born July 11, 1901, in Egypt Mills to August and Agnes Scholl Borchelt. On March 20, 1944, she married John Wise in Ellsworth, Kans. He died June 11, 1963.

With the exception of eight years in Kansas, Mrs. Wise was a lifetime resident of Gordonville area. She and her husband operated Wise Station in Gordonville from 1947 to 1977. Prior to that, she worked at the International Shoe Co. in Cape Girardeau. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Gordonville.

Survivors include sons, Paul Borchelt, Gordonville, Dan Borchelt, Cape Girardeau and Archie Borchelt, Alexandria, Va., and sisters, Mrs. Meta Krieger and Mrs. Lucille Keller, both of Cape Girardeau.

Service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Norman Dierking officiating. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery in Gordonville.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
