Obituary ....
John C. Wise, 79 years old, of Gordonville, owner and operator of the Wise service station and restaurant on Highway 25, died 9:05 Tuesday night at the family home. He had resided at Gordonville 16 years, moving there from Salina, Kan.
Mr. Wise was born February 19, 1884, at Tonganoxie, Kan. He was a member of the Delaware Lodge 96, A.F. & A.M., at White Church, Kansas.
On March 20, 1944, he married Emma Mary Borchelt at Ellsworth, Kan. She survives.
Also surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Ethyl Byrd of Charlottesville, Va., and a grandchild. A sister preceded him in death.
The body is at the Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau where Masonic rites will be held by St. Mark's Lodge 98 at 7:30 Thursday night.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home at 2 Friday afternoon by the Rev. Bascomb Patrick with internment in Christ Lutheran Cemetery at Gordonville. |
