Obituary ....
Jesse F. Quade Rites
Funeral services were conducted this afternoon at the Christ Lutheran Church of Gordonville for Jesse F. Quade, a city employee and caretaker at the Arena Building for nine years. Rev. Paul W. Ludwig officiated and interment was in the church cemetery with Ford and Sons Funeral Home in charge.
Pallbearers were Norman, Paul and Henry Quade, William Lewis, Ed Gerecke and Walter Gerecke.
Mr. Quade, 65 years old, died unexpectedly at 9:20 Saturday night, at a local hospital where he had been admitted 20 minutes earlier after suffering a heart attack at his place of residence in the Arena Building. He had a heart condition, but death was unexpected.
He was born February 10, 1894, at Gordonville and on February 28, 1915, married the former Ida Gerecke there. He farmed in that community until moving to Cape Girardeau in 1950 after which he became employed by the city. Mr. Quade was an active member in the Cape County Farm Bureau until the last couple of years.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ida Quade, three sons, Clarence Quade of Poplar Bluff, Curtis Quade of Cape Girardeau and Clyde Quade of Allenville; six daughters, Mrs. Elliott Clingingsmith of Oak Ridge, Mrs. Howard Cracraft of Cape Girardeau, Mrs. Walter Hanschen of Gordonville, Mrs. Leslie Cook of Whitewater, Mrs. Lawrence Brucker of Delta and Mrs. Allen Morgan of Jackson; two brothers, Herb Quade of Chaffee and Tom Quade of Jackson; an uncle Alex Thompson of Cape Girardeau, 25 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A daughter, sister and three brothers preceded him in death. |
