John Luehring, 74, of Cape Passes Away
John Luehring, 74 years old, died Wednesday night at 11 at the family home, 208 North Boulevard.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 at the Christ Lutheran Church at Gordonville with the pastor, the Rev. O. H. Pooker, in charge. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The body will remain at the Ford-Young Funeral Home until noon Saturday.
Mr. Luehring is survived by his wife, Mrs. Alvina Luehring; a daughter, Mrs. Arnold Klages of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Will Luehring and Henry Luehring of Gordonville.
Born at Hanover, Ind., on November 8, 1879, he was united in marriage to Miss Alvina Volkerding in August 1903 at Gordonville. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last August. They had moved to Cape Girardeau 28 years ago from Gordonville.
In January of 1926 he went to work as custodian at First National Bank and remained there until last January when he retired because of failing health. |
