Obituary ....
Arthur Hager of Gordonville, 80 years old, died at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday in St. Francis Medical Center at Cape Girardeau.
Mr. Hager was born February 12, 1902, in Gordonville, a son of Phillip and Sophia Siemers Hager. On May 12, 1923, he was married to Clara Probst, who survives.
Mr. Hager farmed all of his lifetime in Gordonville community. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Gordonville, and served as elder in the church. Mr. Hager also served as mayor of Gordonville during the 1970s.
Surviving besides his wife, are a son, Harlan P. Hager, Gordonville; two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Marion) Blattner, Gordonville, and Mrs. William (Doris) Sawyer, St. Louis; two brothers, Norman Hager, Gordonville, and Robert Hager, Cape Girardeau; a sister, Mrs. Lillian Nenninger, Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, three brothers and five sisters.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson. The Rev. Norman Derking, pastor of Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery at Gordonville.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3:30 p.m. today. |
