Obituary ....

Miss Nettie Schmidt died last night at the home of her brother, Louis Schmidt, on his farm east of Gordonville, at the age of nearly 71 years. Several years ago Miss Schmidt suffered a stroke of paralysis, from which she never fully recovered, and about the first of October another attack rendered her helpless.

Miss Schmidt was born November 14, 1849 in Waldeck, Germany, and came to the United States with her parents when a child of two or three years. The family settled in Applecreek township, and when her parents had passed away, Miss Schmidt made her home in several places until she purchased a house in Jackson and lived here until the infirmities of old age compelled her to give up living alone, and since then has resided with her brother. Besides the above-named brother, another brother William Schmidt, who lives near Friedham, survives.

The funeral will be held at the Gordonville Lutheran church Wednesday afternoon followed by internment in the cemetery near the church.
