Obituary ....

Service for Mrs. Hermine Sander will be held at Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery at Gordonville at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Charles Minetree officiating. Internment will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the McCombs Funeral Home at Jackson after 5 p.m. Monday.

Sander, 82 years old, died at her home Saturday, September 3, 1988.

She was born May 27, 1906, at Gordonville, daughter of William Wessel and Emma Sievers Wessel.

She married Leo R. Sander on October 26, 1929. He preceded her in death in 1975.

Survivors included a son, Roland Sander; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Leola) Ruch of Kent Ohio and Mrs. Rodney (Shirley) O'Conner, College Station, Tex.; three brothers, Albert Wessel, of Cape Girardeau, Henry Wessel and William Wessel, both of Gordonville; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Grossheider and Miss Edna Wessel, both of Kirkwood, and Mrs. Emma Smith, Rolla; and 11 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters.

She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church of Gordonville for many years, and she was a Sunday school teacher.

She had worked with her son at Sander Nursery for the past 15 years.
