Obituary ....
Mary Tilley-Niemann, 76, of Gordonville met her savior Tuesday, January 18, 2011. She had moved to Jackson Manor last week.
Mary was born August 17, 1934, in Advance, Mo., to Riley and Mayme Wallace Schweain. She and James Tilley were married June 3, 1950. He passed away August 25, 1995. She and Henry "Hank" Niemann were married May 20, 1998.
She enjoyed cooking, hand stitching quilts, vegetable and flower gardening, and collecting angels. She was a longtime member of Church of the Nazarene in Cape Girardeau, and also enjoyed attending Christ Lutheran Church in Gordonville with Hank. She was a faithful volunteer in the activities of both congregations.
Loving survivors include her husband of 12 years, Hank of Gordonville; four daughters, Karen (Steve) Allen of Whitewater, Jeannie Tucker of Zalma, Mo., Patsy (Larry) Gibson and Candace Knickerbocker of Cape Girardeau; a son, Jimmy (Theresa) Tilley of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two stepdaughters, Deanna Ware of Gordonville, Dixie (Alan) Crites of Jackson; a stepson, Danny (Sue) Niemann of Springfield, Mass.; three sisters, Betty Rohmann of Scranton, Pa., Candy Gottfried of St. Louis, Hazel Hampton-Collins of Wappapello, Mo.; a brother, Jerry Schweain of Jackson; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren.
In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles "Tommy" Schweain, John Riley Schweain Jr., Clarence Schweain; two grandchildren; and her parents.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to time of service Friday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be at noon Friday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Gary Hoffstetter and Jason Hill officiating. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Cemetery at Gordonville.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Church of the Nazarene or Christ Lutheran Church.
