Obituary ....
Mrs. Edgar C. (Frieda B.) Winkler of Gordonville, died at 12:20 a.m. today, November 14, 1985, at the Jackson Manor in Jackson, where she had been a resident for one week. Prior to that, she had been a patient at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau for a month. She was 79 years old.
Mrs. Winkler, the former Miss Borgfield, was born March 26, 1906, at Kurreville, a daughter of August and Eugenie Puchbauer Borgfield.
On March 27, 1927, she was married to Mr. Winkler in Jackson. He survives.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Gordonville. The Winklers also served as custodians at Christ Lutheran Church for many years, retiring in 1984.
Surviving, besides her husband, are a son, Elmer ("Bud") Winkler, Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Mrs. Wilbert (Dorothy) Peetz, Gordonville Route 3, Mrs. Virginia Ulrich, Jackson, and Mrs. Jeffrey (LaVerne) Lloyd, Towaco, N. J.; a brother, Elmer Borgfield, Cape Girardeau; one sister, Miss Cora Borgfield, Jackson, 11 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a twin sister.
The body is at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, where friends may call after 4 p.m. Friday.
Saturday at 1 p.m., the body will be taken to Christ Lutheran Church for funeral service at 2 p.m. The Rev. Dan Werning, pastor, will officiate, and burial will be in the church cemetery. |
