Obituary ....
Wm. Niemann, one of the most substantial farmers of Hubble Township, died at his home north of Gordonville on Highway 25 at 6:10 o'clock Sunday night. Stricken with paralysis a few days earlier in the week, he sank rapidly until he passed away.
The body was brought to the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, where it will remain until 9 o'clock Tuesday morning, when it will be taken to the family residence. Services will be held there at 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, and at 1:30 o'clock at Christ Lutheran Church in Gordonville, conducted by Rev. Hugo Hoyer. Burial will be in the cemetery at Gordonville.
Born within a half mile of the place where he died, Herman Niemann lived the 67 years of his life in that community. On Novemeber 3, 1868, he was married to Bertha Birk, and since that time they had lived on the farm on Highway 25.
He is survived by his widow, a daughter, Miss Lillian Niemann at home; three sons, Henry Niemann, who lives on adjoining land, and Clarence and Wm. Niemann, at home; a sister, Mrs. Leo Jordan of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Albert Niemann of near Gordonville and Herman C. Niemann of Cape Girardeau, three grandchildren, and one step-brother, H. W. Bangert of Gordonville. |
