Obituary ....

Harold Louis "Chug" Skelton, 69, died Saturday, May 28, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 11, 1924, at Benton, son of Joe and Pearl May Brunner Skelton. He and Dorothy Willa were married August 3, 1966, at Gordonville.

Skelton was a truck driver with Macke Farm Service and Co-Op, retiring in the early 1980's. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church here, charter member of Gordonville Fire Department, member of Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post 158 and VFW Post 10495 in Jackson.

He served with the U.S. Army during World War II in the Alaskan Theatre.

Survivors include his wife; a son Brad Skelton of Gordonville; a daughter, Carmen Robinson of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Leo Skelton of Caruthersville, Charles Skelton of Gordonville; a sister, Evelyn Dake of Jackson, and a grandson.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today. An American Legion honor guard service will be held at 7:30.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Christ Church, with Rev. D. Lee Cullen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
