Obituary ....
Ray Doering, of Gordonville, died at approximately noon Tuesday, February 12, 1985 in Southeast Missouri Hospital at Cape Girardeau, where he had been admitted a short time before. He was 67 years old.
Mr. Doering was born June 20, 1917 at Altenburg, a son of William and Bertha Noenning Doering.
On December 17, 1939, he was married to the former Magdalene Wallmann in Pocahontas. She survives.
Mr. Doering was confirmed in March 1931, at the Lutheran Church in Longtown, and presently was a member of Christ Lutheran Church at Gordonville.
He was a veteran of World War II, and was a member of the American Legion Altenthal-Joerns Post 158 in Jackson.
From 1946 to 1976, he owned and operated Ray's Place and Ray's One Stop at Gordonville retiring in 1981.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Mrs. Vernon (Marilyn) Eggimann and Mrs. Richard (Katherine) Kester, both of Gordonville Route 3; his mother, Mrs. Bertha Doering, St. Louis; two brothers, Lennert and Louis Doering, both of St. Louis; sisters, Mrs. Walter (Leona) Niemty, St. Louis, and Charles (Lorine) Weinrich, Perryville Route 3; and three grandchildren, Brent and Bradley Eggimann and Tammy Kester.
He was preceded in death by his father and one sister.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Christ Lutheran Church in Gordonville. The Rev. Dan Werning, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
The body will be taken to the church at 12:30 p.m. Friday from the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, where friends may call after 4 p.m. Thursday. |
