Obituary ....

Mrs. Christine Luhring, nee Meisner, died at the home of her son William in the village of Gordonville last night at 11:45, after an illness of some duration caused by dropsy and other complications, augmented by advanced age.

She leaves to mourn her death three sons, William, John and Henry, all of Gordonville, also one daughter, Mrs. Clara Nichols of Cape Girardeau, eight grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held at the Christ Lutheran church at Gordonville tomorrow (Saturday) at 2 o'clock p.m. and interment will be made in the nearby cemetery.

Mrs. Luhring was born in Oberdoria, Thuringia, Germany, on March 20, 1849, and was therefore 75 years, 8 months and 14 days of age at her death. She came to the United States with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Meisner, and the family first settled in Madison, Ind. There she was married about fifty years ago to Henry Luhring and shortly thereafter came to Cape Girardeau county and took up residence in Gordonville, where her husband died about 14 years ago, since which time she has made her home with her children.
