Obituary ....
Henry M. Bodenstein, a lifetime resident of the Gordonville community, died Friday at a Cape Girardeau nursing home after an illness of several months. He was 71 years old.
Mr. Bodenstein was born in this area January 3, 1900, and was baptized February 4 that year at Zion Lutheran Church. On March 13, 1913, he was confirmed in Christ Lutheran Church here where he was also married to Miss Emma Schmidt on February 14, 1931. She survives at the home here.
Other survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Clarence Schmittzehe, Appaloosa, La., Mrs Rodney Strop and Miss Shirley Bodenstein, both of Memphis, Tenn,; two brothers Fred and Walter Bodenstein, both of Gordonville; three sisters, Mrs. Alvin Fluegge, Jackson, Mrs. Alvin Huter, Nampa, Idaho, and Mrs. Walter Huter, Burfordville, and seven grandchildren.
At 12:30 Sunday noon the body will be removed from McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson to the Christ Lutheran Church here where services will be conducted at 2 by the Rev. Richard E. Hasz, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery. |
