Obituary ....

Gordonville church group launches drive for family.

The Men's Club of Christ Lutheran Church here and several friends have started a fund for the family of Vernon Lorenz, who is a patient in Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, where he is critically ill.

Mr. Lorenz has been ill for several years and has not worked for a year. He had been formerly employed by Finney's Drug Store, Cape Girardeau.

The fund will be used primarily to help Mrs. Lorenz buy a car. Last week when taking Mr. Lorenz to St. Louis, the family car was involved in an accident and was demolished.

The couple has two children, six years old and nine months old.

Mr. Lorenz was a member of Christ Church and was formerly treasurer of the Men's Club. Donations may be sent to the club or John Lorberg and J. M. Hanschen both of Gordonville. Checks should be made out to the Men's Club.
