Obituary ....

August Maag of the Gordonville community died this morning at his home here.

The body is at Denecke-Laird Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.


Tuesday, December 31, 1963 in the Southeast Missourian

August Otto Maag, 71 years old, died at his home in this community Monday morning.

Mr. Maag was born at Tilsit May 5, 1892, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Maag. On June 9, 1921, he married Miss Ella Hauck.

Surviving are his wife, two sons, Lawrence Maag and William Maag of Gordonville; three daughters, Mrs. Louis Brugger of Jackson, and Mrs. Willie Borgfield and Mrs. Harry Bohnert, both of Perryville; three brothers, Alvin Maag of Chaffee, and Louis Maag and Otto Maag of Jackson; a sister, Mrs. Frieda Nussbaum of Whitewater, and four grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 at Christ Lutheran Church here. The Rev. Paul Ludwig will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The body is at the Denecke-Laird Funeral Home and will be taken to the church at 12:30 Wednesday.
